Associates

Most of our Associates are homegrown talents. However, we are still searching for talents who have unique and excellent skills in handling legal matters to join our family. Candidates must have met our standards, among others:

 

  • A minimum degree of Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from any local or international qualified universities; and
  • Admitted and enrolled as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

Salary begins from MYR3,600 depending on experience and academic grades.

Local Interns

Senior Associates

Experience is one of the most valuable things that one can hold. Thus, we always welcome any qualified and experienced lawyers to join our family. The firm has a unique constitution as the positions for Senior Associates are divided into two categories i.e. Senior Associate 1 and Senior Associate 2. These two categories are distinguished by the following number of experiences:

 

 

  • Senior Associate 1: At least 5 ½ years of experience in practice;
  • Senior Associate 2: At least 3 years of experience in practice; 

 

Salary for the Senior Associate 1 position begins from MYR7,500.00 depending on experience, achievements, and academic grades.

Trainee Solicitors

Pupillage Programme:

Pupillage is a key stage in becoming a lawyer. It is a period of practical training and apprenticeship where aspiring lawyers, known as Pupils, work closely with experienced lawyers to gain hands-on experience in legal practice. The purpose of pupillage includes providing practical experience, mentorship, exposure to different areas of law and supporting professional development. Overall, pupillage bridges the gap between academic legal education and actual legal practice, ensuring that new barristers are well-prepared to represent clients effectively.

 

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates who meet all of the following criteria:

• A minimum cumulative CGPA of 3.4 or 2:2 (Lower Second-Class Honours) or equivalent in your degree;
• Excellent grades of 5 A’s or more in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or any equivalent certificate;
• If the Firm offers you employment as a Legal Associate before the expiry of your pupillage period, you must  accept the offer and serve the Firm for a minimum mandatory service period of eighteen (18) months. Should you fail to accept the Firm’s offer of employment or fail to complete the required minimum period, you will be required to repay the Firm a sum of Ringgit Malaysia Fifteen Thousand (RM15,000.00) only;
• An allowance starting from MYR 3,200.00.

Partner – Construction

The Construction Partner is responsible for leading and growing the Construction Practice Group, delivering high-quality legal advice to clients across all stages of construction and infrastructure projects. The role requires a strong blend of legal expertise, business development, team leadership, and client management. The Partner will oversee complex contentious and non-contentious construction matters, including arbitration, adjudication, and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:
♦ Lead and manage the Construction Practice Group, ensuring high standards of legal services.
♦ Advise on the full lifecycle of construction and infrastructure projects, including contract drafting, project structuring, claims, and dispute resolution.
♦ Represent clients in dispute resolution proceedings including arbitration, adjudication (under CIPAA), and litigation.
♦ Review and negotiate construction-related documents such as EPC contracts, FIDIC-based agreements, and consultancy contracts.
♦ Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for cross-practice collaboration and growth.
♦ Lead business development initiatives and contribute to the firm’s strategic goals and reputation in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
♦ Mentor, train, and supervise junior lawyers and associates within the practice group.
♦ Stay updated on industry trends, legislative changes, and best practices relevant to the construction industry.

Requirements:
♦ Minimum 10 years PQE with at least 5 years in construction law (disputes and transactions).
♦ LL.B (Hons) and called to the Malaysian Bar.
♦ Proven track record with contractors, developers, government-linked projects, and infrastructure sectors.
♦ Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken).
♦ Familiarity with legal research platforms and practice management tools.

Associate – Construction

The Associate will support the Construction Practice Group Partner/Head in delivering legal services across a wide range of construction matters. The role involves research, drafting, advisory, and dispute resolution work, with opportunities to develop specialisation in the construction and infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities:
♦ Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts (including EPC, FIDIC, consultancy and subcontract agreements).
♦ Support the preparation of claims, opinions, and legal strategies in adjudication (CIPAA), arbitration, and litigation matters.
♦ Conduct legal research, prepare court documents, witness statements, and other legal documentation.
♦ Liaise with clients, consultants, and relevant regulatory bodies under the supervision of the Partner.
♦ Monitor legal developments in construction law and assist in knowledge sharing within the team.
♦ Contribute to the Firm’s publications, presentations, and thought leadership efforts in the construction law space.

Requirements:
♦ 1–5 years PQE; experience in construction law or dispute resolution preferred.
♦ LL.B (Hons) and called to the Malaysian Bar.
♦ Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken).
♦ Competent in legal databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
♦ Knowledge of CIPAA processes and familiarity with FIDIC suite is an added advantage.
